I have noticed a few new users abusing this site in several ways so I thought a few rules would be in order. What I intend to do is put a page up defining the rules, but what should they be? This site is not a commercial venture, it is just a bit of fun and a community so I do not think it would be fair for me to impose rules on everyone without the agreement of the regular users so this thread is for everyone to reach agreement on what the rules should be. I will post my initial thoughts shortly. Mark

First Idea: Anyone who uses false details when registering should be banned. I know several people have many usernames, that is ok. My point is that any details that have to be entered should be correct. No one apart from me gets to see these details and I have no use for them other than as a safety measure should something happen, I am sure we all know the sort of thing I am talking aout. If you are not a bad person you have nothing to hide. Any thought?

Another idea: No advertising I am not talking about putting parts for sale in the forum or posting links to something you have found that is of interest, just people registering to advertise their own or other websites. Comments?

having to deal with a compendium of rules in my working life i tend to steer clear of asking for rules outside of that....but i do recognise that there will be an element of piss-taking should this site be a free for all. With this in mind i'm with yer all the way mark.

hey mark Can it be noted that if a memeber feels that one member or other is devious they can bring it to you to look into? I know with a few groups as you must as well. Clicks are normal but exclution i feel is not acceptable. While this group at mo is working well as it gets bigger inevertable there will be the click and the one that dont fit in. Do you want to look into working the site for these people too? How do you feel you can address this?

Mark I keep trying to upload a photo and I keep getting different reasons as to why it won't upload. The photo is well within the size restriction. What am I doing wrong?? One of the messages says This file type not allowed. I'm not trying to upload porn. Ha Ha. Help please.thanks.

Hey Rubber I know what you are saying but cliques are inevitable when there is a large group of peeps together - maybe because they joined at the same time or they know others from previouse chatrooms,or simply they know each other on a personal level - whatever.I think that nobody excludes people on purpose - it is difficult to try and have a conversation when there is 10/15 peeps in the room. Considering 98% of people in the room have only met electronically and only know what people have offered voluntarily about themselves there should be no excluding of peeps or any animosity towards anyone purposely - if there were thats for Admin to sought out. Cliques will be Cliques here and everywhere. Me,I just kind of talk and my posts are shite, But hey!it far better than watching tv and while i'm enjoying myself and there is no personal abuse i'm happy to stick around. Love,Peace&Happiness joexx

I agree with u joe, I acutally pride myself on the fact that the people that come in here are a friendly bunch, there r ofcourse exeptions to the rule as as always. But I must admit even tho there a lot of us on here that know each other personally, only because of the site tho, we don't exclude people at all, if u r new we say hi where u from etc the only reason u may not get more out of us is if as a new one u don't say much, blood out of a stone springs to mind. So if u r new get stuck in be polite be funny ask questions get to know us, just the same as if u was meeting someone in a pub for the first time, however bear this in mind u don't like everyone u meet in everyday life so i'm sure there will be people u don't like on here. If that ever ends up being the case just be respectful don't speak to them even but don't give em shit. Thank you lol

Rules are a good idea, as long as there are just a few basics. Most peeps who come on here are usually fairly sensible. I think the correct details is a good idea , but as your profile still shows your real name (not everyone wants that to be common knowledge to other users) it might be helpful to have that section twice, once for the profile and once for Admin use. No advertising is a good, if people want advertising links put up they should have to do this through Admin via application, and already have been regular users for a certain length of time. The thing about reporting people because you think they don't like you is a bit of a non starter really. As Roeby said there will always be people who don't get on, we can't all like everyone. It may also cause people to maliciously report other users and probably, most importantly, I don't suppose Mark and Roeby want to get caught up in people's personal squabbles, they don't have time for all that nonsense. So lets keep it civil even if we don't like someone.
