its really out of order apparently there is only British Airways that are not passing the duty on to passengers. And seen as tho its a duty made on the airline by the goverment i think thats how they all should be.

the thought behind the tax is to make folk take less flights abroad! aircraft pollution is apparently a serious issue as it is deposited high up in the atmosphere (where pollution is thought to cause most damage). however it seems that it is designed more to affect the holiday maker who goes wherever for 2 weeks every year rather than the business man or politician (both do their flying on other peoples money it aint coming out of thier pocket lets face it.) Any tax raised if used for environmental projects would be a good thing, but fact is the tax raised will go into the treasury and be wasted eleswhere. All governments raise tax's whilst claiming to be agaisnt high tax's.... the way they do this is to have low income tax and high indirect taxes. crooks the lot of them.
