If ya don't like thinkin' look away.
I have a 130/90-16 back tire, 110/90-16 front tire.
I have trouble getting decent tires for those specific sizes.
Anybody got any comments on putting a different size tire on? Say putting a 150/80-16 on the back and a 120/80-16 on the front?
I've done a bit of research on it, but need some experienced input. Will the bigger tire fit on the rim? I know about the height issue as far as speedo goes, thats why I picked the sizes mentioned, they are pretty close to the height of my current tires.

lo m8, what bike is it you've got? the tyre sizes you mentioned that are slightly wider will fit on the rims. there may be a few probs that you come across and some which are prob easily bypassed. the first thing you might come across is the handling may feel horrible, it won't feel like it will want to go, you may also find that the tyre may rub on a mudguard or the swinging arm. if it is rubbing anywhere you may have to put original tyre sizes on. if you let me know what bike it is i can prob tell you a bit more, i know with some of the modern bikes putting a wider tyre on can help grip but can slow the steering down slightly but on a road its rare that you need to do this, the one thing ive also seen on modern bikes especially the new shape (04-06) r1 is that if you put a 190/55-17 on the rear it may rub on the swinging arm at the front where there is a spot weld that yamaha didnt grind off, you might think this is bollox but what might fit one bike without any bother may be a prob on another.
if you can read past the bullshit mate i hope it helps
cheers si

bike is a '85 fx400/gpz400
like i said, can't get the better tires in the standard sizes, thats why i'm looking at the change. don't think the tire will rub against the frame or mudguard.
