is the battery fully charged? does the startermotor solonoid click? (you would notice it it would be a repeated clicking noise.) could be a load of other things as well but i suspect there aint enough juice in the battery charge it up and then see..... alternatively get some jump leads off the car to your battery and se if it will have a go. if it does its yer battery needs charging if not its summat else.

I suspect it is flat battery, bet the lights aren't as bright as they should be. If it is, and you haven't started it for ages, chances are the battery will be beyond charging and you'll need a new one. Suggestion for the future....buy an optimate charger. You can leave it on trickle throughout the winter and it will only charge when the battery needs it ie: won't fry your new battery. It would also tell you whether your battery is beyond repair or not as it is diagnostic Sorry if I'm trying to teach a granny to suck eggs!!!!!

bikes should be run once a month at least in winter. also stops oil running off areas with potential corrosion internally and keeps petrol fresher.

ahem once a week for about 20 mins will A) keep fresh petrol in yer carbs and B) keep yer battery charged. if your going to lay a bike up for the winter get an optimate charger (or budget for a new battery come spring) take the battery off the bike and hook it up to the optimate. drain yer float bowls on the carbs. drain the fuel from the tank as well. change the oil in the engine (and again in spring) and also tip a teaspoon of oil down the bores. better yet get a pair of paddock stands and get the bike in the air in yer garage . or if yer roeby leave it outside untouched and unloved and get someone else to sort it come spring lol.

never worked on or owned a bike with fuel injection so yer on yer own on that one. would assume you would have to drain all fuel (from tank and injectors) if you planned to store it for the winter. modern unleaded petrol goes "off" very quickly and starts to form residues which block up jets and cause rough running etc. would assume that this situation would be the same with injection. wanders off muttering about new fangled stuff
