I joined this group because of the great humor in your posts.... Do anyone in the group ride a maxi.... >250cc scooter? If so, what do you ride and does your weather influence your riding. What distance to travel do you consider an overnight trip? Here in Chicago, I can travel 40 miles before I see actual countryside. Have a great day bob (03 Silverwing 600cc ABS)

im not aware of anyone that rides a scooter on here so your unique (on here at least lol). hey if its got two wheels good on ya. try popping into the chatroom at some point (UK time 8 pm onwards) we are about 5 or 6 hours ahead of you. So why did you buy a scooter as opposed to a motorcycle? any particular reason?

as for distance = overnight stay, depends really, if im going to a rally or show etc then it could be as little as a few miles, but if im just in the mood to ride i could do a 400 mile round trip easily enough in a day. dunno that i would attempt that kind of distance on a scooter mind but each to his own .

Got a maxi scoot because: Haven a hard time lifting my leg over a bike, Lots of stop and go in Chicago, no more clutch/shift clutch/shift, Lots of power... 0 to 60 mph in 6 seconds, ABS brakes... I like to ride in all weather, Handles great, lots of safe storage, And unique style in a country where everything looks like a Harley. I couldn't see spending 20 grand to look like everybody else, and I never was the croch-rocket type.

The most I have done in one day is 250 miles. Being a touring scooter, there is no problem with distance.

Hi maxi. i ride a harley, i do remember spending somthing like 20 grand to buy but in no way does it look like every other bike in the states. it is what you make it . if i have to explain you would not understand. Not busting on you but just how i feel when sombody knocks a 20 grand bike and the work that went into it . more power to you with the scoot, hey its got 2 wheels and thats all that matters.enjoy the ride maxi. night owl

I was not knocking any bike or manufacturer. It just wasn't the bike for me. Most of the people I know ride Harleys in the 15k to 28k range. And yes I do understand about customizing, and the hard work people put into their rides. Mine already cost me over 9k total and a bit of work. But like you said "it is two wheels", and it is my main transportation until the snow flies. Have a safe one bob

my dad rides a scooter (not sure what it is actually) but he goes all over the place on his long day trips and overnite stays at scooter rallys etc ......... must admit he is probably more comfy than me at the end of a long ride (i mean bike ride) when my wrists have finally given up if i wanted to still ride (a bike i mean) i would probably get one myself.

lots of bikes dont hurt your wrista roebs. the more sit up styles like bandits. never any problems with it and the most i've done in a day is 350 miles. I felt better at the end of it than my mates who were all riding VFR's.
