this one makes mel spring to mind .......... she is in court often and needs to read lips, how the hell can she do that if they r wearing a veil. now this news story says if the intrest of law is not been met than other arrangements will have to be made, it would be intresting to know if that means they would send mel home or the woman wearing a veil? ......... i think they would send mel home thinking it causes less of a problem so in my mind that then means mel is getting discriminated against or am i wrong? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6134804.stm

yes she would be being discriminated against. I read the article early this morning and thought it was a bullsh*t method of politising the viel thing and keeping it in the news. the judge in the original case should have held the soliciter in contempt and had done with it..... FFS whats this country coming to? I think in mels case (the need for lip reading) a judge would not be able to rule one way or the other in case of discriminating against either party. surely it would be simpler to just say "NO YER NOT BLOODY WEARING THAT THING IN MY COURT!"

easy solution to this - kick her out of court, and out of her job, because shes holding her stupid religion above her work responsibilities.
