my car has been playing up (not starting first time) so it went in to the main BMW dealers to get sorted. picked it up started first time, great i thought its done ......... nope by the next day it was at it again, so back to BMW we went. sorted again (apparently) started first time by the next day same old story, so off we go again. fixed again (alledgedly) but by day 2 its at it again. so off we go again, they have had it over nite this time so off i go this morning to fetch it, cos they have fixed it, it didn't even start at all!!!!!!! so i made the guy come out and try it himself .......... very red faced he was full of apologises, so now it is still with them and cos its the weekend they have it until at least monday. Now first couple of times i didn't mind so much cos they gave me a brand new 3 series to drive round in but this time they have given me a poxy 1 series!!!!!!!!!!!! has anyone drove one or even worse own one? what a pile of sh*t this car is u might as well save yourself a fortune and buy anything else cos it is just full of plastic and its just tacky and what an ugly car to boot!!!!!!!!!!!!! only saving grace is at least its black.

I have worked on a few series 1 bmws and they are "brute ugly".I reckon you have lecky problems with your bm Roebs.I had one of the 320i BMW years ago.It had the 6 cylinder engine and it was one fit yoke.I remember performing a u turn in it one day in our main street but a bit too much power made me end up performing 2 doughnuts!lol. 3 little kids were standing eating ice cream on the foot path at the time and I caught a glimpse of them during the 2nd doughnut. They looked mesmorised!PMSL

At least they gave you a courtesy car Roebs......my car has now been in for over 4 weeks, mmm, or is that 5, and I have no courtesy car, and no sign of it getting fixed. To say I'm seething is something of an understatement. It seems that it doesn't matter how many times you make an official complaint to Alfa UK, fact is, it's still in bits. Having to go everywhere on the bike, which is no joke when it's minus 4 and you have holes in yer winter gloves. Also a bit of a prob trying to ferry 2 children around Angry from Shropshire

I drove the 1 series in work did not think much off it. Ive owned a few bm's, A 735i 6 Pot, A 320i 6 Pot, A 520i 6 Pot And a 525i 6 Pot 24 valve. As you can see i like the 6 Pot, sooooo smooth and never had any trouble with it. Dont like the 1 series though. Mike

Never mind Roe, I have to wait at least another 10 days to get mine back, always assuming that the parts arrive next week, and to top it all, I have found out that my contribution of 20% is going to set me back £600 .......aaaagggghhhh!!!! Skint from Shropshire

fingers crossed i get my car back tomorrow ............ they have changed just about everything they could think off and even the main computer in the car incase it was that ............. then today they found some little relay that had burnt bits on it so they have changed that and its working but they just wanted to keep it to make sure it is fixed .................. what i'm p*ssing myself at is that this relay costs about £3.50 and they have spent a fortune on all these expensive parts for nothing ........ and i aint worried about it cos its all still under warrenty so it cost me nothing!!!!!!!! pmsl
