it isnt all down to illegal immigrants the vast majority of immigrants are coming from europe and are perfectly entitled to do so under EEC regulations, just as UK citizens are entitled to live and work anywhere in europe. most of the jobs that the euro immigrants are taking are the low paid jobs that cant be filled as UK citizens wont take em. admitedly there are problems with organised criminals coming here from the former eastern block and they should indeed be deported upon conviction (there is a system where the crook can serve his/her sentace in their own country under EEC laws). as for the illegal immigrants yes they should be caught and processed back to country of origin without any messing about no appeal process no nothing. after all if the country they come from is so dire they would have saught assylum in the first safe country they passed through. and even if they came here they should have declared there assylum seeker status on arrival and stayed where they were placed until their application was either approved or declined. obviously this is not the case and there is a need to sort this huge problem out. As for this country being a shi*hole , it cant be all that bad otherwise all these folks wouldnt come here. i havnt really got a problem with folk who come here for work as long as its legit and they accept that they are no longer in their home country and must adhere to our way of life and not try to impose a way of life alien to us all.

I also thought the government were encouraging the inflow from the eastern European countries because they want a young workforce in this country ...apparently we are an ageing population and ....I cant afford to go and work in another country..if I coould I would go definately or if I could get the support from another country that we give to the people that come to work here....I am so quids down on this..for one you have to be in the black with your bank account.......!!! lol ok that me out of the running for years to come!!!

From the point of view of forign workers this is probably the best country in the EU to live and work in.........in theory at least. Fact is that shifty employers will pay the least amount of money that they can get away with and the forign workers either dont know about the minimum wage or are told that it dosnt apply to them. there must be clear and concise wording to new legislation with no bloody loopholes. minimum wage was supposed to be the least amount legaly payable for a low/no skill job and not as is the case an excuse to cut wages to increase profits. the construction industry has cut its wages from up to 1000 pounds a week to less than 300 (300 was the level of wages in mechanical construction back in 1988 niegh on 20 years ago ffs) the excuse given is that they can employ workers from the EU for less money and that british workers must accept less money. there is no union power anymore thanks to that old bagage thatcher and the tories so there is no comeback for the big employer. With a government so up itself in power and concerned with being politically correct what this countyr really needs is a return to the unions kicking the proverbial shi* out of the employer and the government both. Its all well and good allowing workers from the EU to come here and work for peanuts to boost a failing pension scheme and NHS, however when the real fault is with incompetance and corruption at government levels the only thing to do is show the anger that is felt in the most effective way possible and that is to hurt them where it really counts....... in the wallet.

i think thats the problem darcey everyone wants to come here cos of how we run our systems but yet to say other countries r in the "EU" it doesn't work the same way so we get shaffted both ends. i looked in to us moving abroad and i asked what i needed to do etc .......... apart from applying for residencey once u have been there for a while its called pack your bags and go BUT don't expect any help from there goverment was what i was told!!!! not that i want or need it but uts not the point if we r lessoning the burden on some other country cos there people r here surely they should help us out if the need arose?

We are living in a country of growing hatred and rebellion..and the blame has to fall at governmental level..I can really feel the depression and the anger and the frustration but also the hopelessness..I know this may sound mad...but thats why this site is so important..because although we are all different we all have the same values...We are the ones and others like us that uphold the value of 'why did they try and fix what wasnt broken'...We are The England that was when everyone had a journey in life...

and as a word of explanation - my views only - I have no problem with people being Scottish/English/Welsh/Irish and British or even only British its a free country after all. Where I, and I know I am not alone in this, find it annoying albeit only a wee bit is when the English confuse England and Britain. Using the Union Jack to support England and not your own flag for example. Mainly led by the media as well. And then we throw in the foreigners who want all of the benefits but wont accept our culture and integrate. Again they can keep their own traditions when it is appropriate but when they try to impose their traditions onto me its not acceptable
