unless yer gonna go and start the bike on a weekly basis it makes more sence to drain the tank and carbs of fuel and put an optimate on the battery. otherwise come spring the carbs will be blocked and you will need a new battery oh and yer tank will be full of fuel that has "gone off". modern fuel dosnt keep all that long.

daisy start the bike and warm it through at least once a week if thats what yer gonna do. still reckon yer better off draining the carbs and tank if yer not gonna be riding it all that much though... having said that it might be a very mild winter and you could be out on the bike all the time..

at a guess roe yer battery will be shot and the carbs will be blocked up with an orange coloured sediment. go and drain the carbs. (get a jam jar and put the overflow pipe in it then open the screw on the float bowl, do the same for all four carbs. next remove the carbs and clean the float bowls out remove the jets as well and clean them too. put it all back together and try to start the bike.) if the battery is flat you can try to charge it, but i reckon it will be knackered , they dont like being fully discharged for a long time. you never know though it might just start up first press of the button.......

lol oh dear..... go and try to start it today roe. if it wont have a go charge the battery (get yer hubby to do this) and try again tommorow. if it still wont have a go then mark will need to strip and clean yer carbs or get his cheque book out.... tis easy to do and less expensive than having a little man at the garage do it for ya but the cheque book route will work too.
once it is running again make sure to start it at least once a week and warm it up properly as well this way you wont encourage condensation within the engine. (it turns yer oil to a white(ish) grey sludge). and really roe you should have been out riding about on the bike rather than being all negletfull to it and going shopping!

Bear the garage is a death trap, its steep off a hill thats steeper. its got a gay guard dog and roe has never gotten used to mechanics. Telll her to dip the carbs in white spirit and she will understand.
