what i pick up from this story is what Juliet Lyon, director of the Prison Reform Trust said "Compared with the soaring reconviction rates for all those leaving our overcrowded jails and the cost to the public purse of more than £11bn a year from reoffending, the HDC makes sound economic sense."
it doesn't make sense if these people r sick in the head and they kill others!!!!! what price do u put on someones head? the victims of these people were someones mother, father, child!!!!!!!!!!

the death penalty dosnt seem to deter murders in the US cant see it working here either. a life sentance should however MEAN a life sentance and not the paltry 7 years that seems to be served these days.

I hate this kind of point scoring BS.
And the number of untagged early releases who went on to commit murder is.......?
And the number of prisoners released after serving their full sentence who went on to commit murder is...........?
And the number of tagged prisoners who don't get into trouble is...........?
This is just another bunch of ringpieces using partial statistics to justify their own, narrow viewpoint.
One good thing about the death penalty, you never have to pay compensation to the wrongly convicted.
Read George Orwell's essay on witnessing a hanging before you say you support the death penalty.
