Why do you want this job in particular?
why do employers allways think its a good question to ask on a form. i hate this question with a passion. Lets face it if your unemployed you apply for any job in the folorn hope you may actually get one and be able to pay your way.
I want to put "Its because the money and hours are good and the travelling distance is manageable" but i doubt thats the awnser they are looking for.Thing is i cant for the life of me get passionate about a glorified security guards position. I cant think of what to write in awnser to the question (or for that matter any of the other bloody stupid psycological profiling questions). FFS all i will be doing is escorting contracters in and out of a cat C prison, not exactly stimulating stuff is it.?
so any suggestions about what to put on the form?
job is 39 hours and pays just under 17k p/a its only for 50 weeks or so but better than nowt i suppose!

You have a uniform fetish and being near prisons gives you a thrill?
You've always wanted to work for the penile service?
You have a massive inferiority complex and being in charge of keys fills a vast, empty, aching void within you?
Big Dave has threatened to break your knees if you don't help bust his bitch out of the nick?
Seriously Bear I hate this question too. It's like their other big favourite "...and how much do you think you should be paid?"
I always want to answer "More than you can afford motherfondler, but I quite fancy your secretary so I'm prepard to come down to 50K".

they probably ask the question so that if someone asks them y they do the job they do they might have come up with a half decent answer.

like i said it aint working as a prison officer (they get paid a good bit more) its just escorting contracters in and out of the prison (temp job only lasting 50 weeks).anyway i'll give it some more thought as they are asking 5 stupid questions think i have 4 of em nailed down but the last one exceeds my bullshit allowance.

these and other similar questions are invented by HR people solely to justify their own existense. I would stick to newly qualified and its some experience in practical matters a foothold and slight insite into the world of security which will enable you to progress and develop a career.
yeah bullshit but if it gets you a job to tide you over so be it.

sensible as ever me. the trouble with all these questions are that if you know about them having been on courses run by hr people about recruiting and you know what they are supposed to get out of the answers then you can cheat like mad. CV's are a total waste of paper as most folk perhaps dont out and out lie they certainly exagerate and are economical with the truth.
