I ride a triumph speed triple and on my way home on monday evening I noticed a strong smell of petrol coming from under the bike.To cut a long story short within a couple of miles of this the bike had dumped a full tank of petrol down my right leg and all over the right and side of the bike.I managed to pull the bike over switch it off and and get a good distance away,I dont know how it never went up in flames.Anyway I spoke to triumph dealer at ongar and they told me this is a common fault with the speed triple and other models with the 955i engine. The cause is the fuel line valves,They are made of plastic and can snap off. They have now changed these for metal ones,So if you know anyone with a triumph that may need this mod done tell them to get in touch with triumph asap.I think i was lucky the next person might not be. Regards Colin.

What's peeved me off is that the new valves only cost me six pounds I lost more than that in fuel, lol

They said they put a recall out but must of overlooked me.If i took the bike to them they would have done it free of charge,But i would had to get the bike to them so ithought it would have been easier for me to do it.Should only take me twenty mins.(famous last words)

.....they put a recall out but must of overlooked me..... "Must be your fault then Colin"! If i took the bike to them they would have done it free of charge......... "How considerate of them"!!!!!!!! But i would had to get the bike to them so ithought it would have been easier for me to do it......... "If that had been me I'd have raised such a stink they'd have not got away with that attitude" Customer Service......let me come back to you on that one!
