Slight prob with the cbx750!on the dash of the bike, the fuel and voltage guage are incorporated as one unit. The problem is that both are behaving erattically! Its reading full or else it drops to empty on the fuel half of the guage but the volt meter wont maintain a steady reading! Its going up and down like a yo yo!it has me baffled!I took the unit out and tested it when hooked to a baterry and it all functioned fine.Put it back in the bike, back to the same nonsense!Checked the charging at the battery with the multimeter and it was 13.96 so its definetley charging ok.any Ideas what the problem is.Not nice takin it out and never being sure if its got enough petrol or if its charging or not.

you've got a short in the wiring loom.... follow the feeder wires from the units back to where they join the main loom....clip them out and bung in some new ones...if it still happens, do the same right thru the main loom....it's a pain but shouldn't take yer more than an hour

Got it sorted today and you know what it was?A corroded fuse!Of all the things I should have checked,I never even looked inside the fuse box until today! And there was me had the bike half in bits all over a dodgy fuse! Cleaned fuse terminals, put in a new clean fuse and hey presto. Thanks for the advice anyways scunj mate.
