Froog i dont understand, would swearing make the site more interesting? I dont think it really would, Personally i think its just the time of year, and the fact that some people have moved on and dont visit as often as they used to. Since i joined at the beginning of the year there have been a lot of coming and goings, im still here cos i like it the way it is, if nobody replies to my threads its that they dont feel they want to. fact .......... we have lost a few members (3 banned)
fact .......... statistics show that this time of year is always quieter
fact .......... there r children that come on here so no i don't want a whole load of swearing
fact .......... due to recent arguments amongst people some have gone off with their tail between their legs.
now to be honest putting up posts about it doesn't help it just brings it all to the front again .......... i myself hadn't even thought about it for ages but when there is a post like this it makes me think about it and makes me have to reply. its not a competition to see how many posts in a day u can get.
for example this week i have so much on ........... i'm painting my kitchen, getting ready for a party tomorrow nite and getting ready for a holiday on monday so i have just abit on my plate, which means i haven't been around as much (cos i need to sleep too) so is it not possible that other people r busy doing other stuff to?
there r new people joining all the time ....... not all of those will become regular visitors but some will and so the numbers grow again. u get out of this what u put in so instead of pointing out the fact that its quieter put up threads that mean something and get a discussion going on all topics it can be about anything.
and if u go in the chatroom and its empty ...... don't leave straight away stay there while u do other stuff cos it won't be long b4 someone else logs in and once there r 2 people chatting and someone else comes it starts to build up.
stop moaning about what u think is wrong if u want this place to stay here for u to use then help it out ........ tell people about it to when u r out and about at your various bike meets and venues ........... how do u think any place on the internet surives ........ it's down to new people joining so go forth and tell em!!!!!!!!!
btw froog i aint having a dig at u by saying this, there has been a number of threads made about the same thing its just this one i answered abit more in deepth.
so lets crack on with making this place bigger and better than it ever has been cos i don't know about u lot but i enjoy coming here.

as one of the old mcnrs I have been here since the beginning. over that time I have used the room sometimes more often than at other times. I have never had to change the style or content of my posting but then again I never feel the need to swear in writing.everything goes a bit quieter at holidays as well look at the roads no-one is suggesting that people are giving up driving.
the place will change and evolve as members join and leave but when other people pop in for a look I dont think that threads that start like this are going to encourage them to join and become active participants.
I am not saying that peeps cant have their say, far from it but it would be more helpful if criticisms were phrased in a more thoughtful and positive manner as roebs says to encourage debate rather than simply a moan.

yep it does get quieter in summer, folk are out and about later in the day, but they still have to sleep and go to work etc so the chatroom becomes quieter.
on a different (but slightly related point) it would be good if on the home page or somewhere there was an indicator that points out if there is anyone in the chat room. dunno how mark would go about doing that though .

when i used the word swear,,i did not mean to fill room with swear words..some know what i mean.i was merely saying lets get some heart back in the place,,it was not a critisism,,more a plea!!...anyways im sure the room will grow,,and improve,,im maybe just too impatient.......but thats froog for ya.
