Strange, but true from "The Other Paper" Columbus, Ohio (USA). Dallas artist James Sooy, 22, weary of his eyeglasses constantly slipping down his nose, had a practical piercing done in December. He had a bar inserted through the upper bridge of his nose and had his prescription lenses affixed to it. Sooy seemed to believe there was money to be made with the idea, but an optometrist interviewed by the Houston Chronicle said prescriptions would be harder to adjust "if you have a hole in your face," and a Houston body-modification technician said work like Sooy's would require a longer-than-normal healing time.

Glasses are a complete pain, I agree. Case in point - regular as clockwork - braking hard for Edwina's at Mallory - my glasses would shoot down my nose leaing me half blind for the Esses, the hairpin, Bus-stop and Devil's Elbow - thank feck for the pit straight so I could pop 'em back up in time for Gerrard's - 'course, they stayed in place for all of 15/20 seconds till Edwina's again. Wonder why I got contacts after that?? lol
