Aussies call us POMs (actually spelt POMEs) because it stands for Prisoner Of Mother England. They believe that we set them free. Well, in so much as 'Here's a boat, bugger off and don't come back' can be called 'Free'.
See, totally useless, I should put a fact of the day thread on here and bore you all stupid. Except Ninj, Ox and Graz, they're already there ;-)

I think Americans get a bad rap in some British/English places because of the way the media represent them on the TV here in England.
If you watch the way Americans are represented we are led to believe that they are all gas guzzling, gun toting, 'i want the biggest and best of everything and will drive 1 mile to school instead of walking, despite the harm to the environment' - kind of way. I don't think Vanilla Ice did much to help when he appeared on the Farm on Channel 5.
However, I don't judge people like that, not every British person is the same, so surely not every American can be like that.
I must get out more I'm gabbling .........................

Ninja, scunj, and grim are all old and very very Fugly, whereas ox here is well just better lookin than the aforementioed.
