Ahreet all!
Well i've been packed with flu for the last 3 days, and i havnt had a tab (cigarette) in that time, however now i'm recovering i find the cravings are coming back big style.
Does anybody have any tips on the best way to quit? ie nicotine patches, herbal cigs ect ect.
I've done the champix thing a few years ago, n while it worked my family refers to it as "The summer of the C***", also it provokes dark dark thoughts, so i really dont wanna go down that route again.
So any tips or anything which ya's have then i'de greatly appreciate it.

Easy I gave up about 5 yrs ago I think ( ask Wife aka Wrossi).
It was really easy, I passed out during a coughing fit at work and at the time was commuting to work on my GS650 from Market Harbourgh ( Leicester) to London ( By the Ace Cafe :D) I sat and thought what would happen if I was weaving down the M1 at junction 10 ( nightmare for traffic jams). So after a check up and a all clear I gave the last 12 cigs to my then boss and stopped. Simple as that, no patches no gum ect.
The though of dying did the trick for me. Or killing someone else if you see what I mean. If you want to give up, then just do it. Simple really. And yes you will put on a bit of weight at first. However it is really worth the effort. Your food tastes 100 times better, your clothes dont stink. Nor your house. Good luck m8, stick with it.

good advice tonto....the deep breathing really does help and you're right, after the first 3 days its all in your head....
for a woman it was easy for me...i just watched others smoke and realized the pointlessness and unattractiveness of it (although, at times, after 25 years, I still want to light up, but just for dramatic purposes)...I mean....you dont even get a buzz..come on

If you can't get it going with bungee cords and electrician's tape it's serious.

Talking of cigarettes ...
I cleared some of my garage out today ...
Down the the back end on a worktop i found an old metal tobaco tin minus lid which i'd used as an ash try ... complete with cigarette ends !!!
I even found a few ends on the floor !
Made me laugh after commenting on this thread !

Givin up ciggies is easy, its givin up spliffs that Ive always found hard to do.
Haven't smoked a cig for over 6 years, funnily enough gave up after a bad flu, but still use about 1/3 of a cig in a spliff, happily though I never get the craving for a fag.
But yeah even the smell of em makes me wrench now, and to think I used to smoke one as soon as I woke up, ughh!

That is the harder one!
Gave up one new yr , overnight, was in hospital not long after. Body does not forgive lack of beer compared to cigarettes. Always drank too much for too long. Think it is in the upbringing and your own nature.
Fell off the wagon because I could and decided early this year to stop again as I knew my limitations better. Been dry for a while now,one mishap. Never said I was an angel!
Its hard I am a piss head and know it, with a highly addictive nature as well.
Still with age brings some sence.
Really do not miss the "buzz" certainly not the cost or feeling next day.
I can say I never had to wake up to a beer on a weekday, but weekends were a diff matter, a good case of fooling myself.
I know you probably meant that in jest Gix, but hey ho :D
