The term "Taking the pee (taking the p**s)", tranlates into the mockery of an individual or the collective thoughts of a mass of people.
For example: "southerners drink strong ale and spend money whenever they feel like without fear of consiquence".... that is taking the p**s because they all drink shandy (A bit of beer/lager and lemonade) and are as tight (dont like to spend money) as a maggots chuff (arse).
