The Temptation to Dismount

As the wind shone mildly upon thy saddle
So I whinnied and cried and paddled

The Slow move south had ruptired my tendon
As the mango plaque had screamed for mending

The marigolds shiver but only as grass
As steady as men who have fled from the past

Many mohicans that shed from their feathers
Shooting to God as he waits in the Heavens

And so my fair children we wait in the lane
For Sorrow, for prudence, we all lie to blame
