Hey all,
I was ridin down the road the other day when my bike all of a sudden got loud and foul. I figured it was the plugs so I changed them, but it didn't help. I then tested the wires, no help. I then realized that the plug gap was changing every time I gapped them and started the bike so I figured it was mechanical like bad bearings or somthin and tore the engine apart. To my surprise there is nothing mechanically wrong with the engine. So now I'm thinkin it's electrical like the ignition module or somethin like that. Has this happened to anyone else and if so do you have any advice? I'd surely appreciate it.

Thanks,
jv1397

He`s tightened the plugs too much and the pistons are head butting the plugs.
Trouble is thats how a hardly moving son sounds anyway........

If you can keep your head while all about you are losing theirs, you probably haven't grasped the seriousness of the situation!

Blue or Black smoke from the pipes? HD's have been known to take a 'long-stroke' when very hot. HD tolerences are pretty rubbish within the motorcycle industry, that's why their bhp figures are low for the size of engine. Because of fuel types, you might find that one or more of your valves could be soft, and realistically need adjustment after only a few trips, this would in effect change your plug-gaps because of coke due to poor fueling. If the smoke is black, then you're rich in mixture, if the smoke is blue, then your valve seals are fuzzed! Any 'bangs' are bad news. If you're a bull- ***FILTERED WORD*** ter, I will kill you like Darth Vader in the 'Death-Star' lego-canteen sketch!!!
