A few weeks ago, i ordered a gear for my 1996 gpz1100 , i was quoted £90.00, went to pick it up (i'd left a fiver deposit) £105.00 mate! didnt have enough money so had to leave it, they phoned to check the price, they hadn't added the mot! what would YOU do! i know its only £15.00 plus the fiver i wasted on petrol ,but!...

£90 + vat @15% is £103.50.
They cannot count anyway you look at it. Prices should include VAT for customers nowdays as well.
Trading Standards might like a call.

not all sellers include vat or mot..... dont think its worth pursuing,
then again what do I know........

It used to be the case that if you were selling mainly to consumers/end users then prices had to be inclusive of VAT. If you are selling trade or to business as your main market then you can offer ex.vat. Not sure if it is the same now.

We sell to both and its all inclusive, as well as our local builders merchants and tool suppliers.

If you aint got the original price in writing then I don't fancy your chances, sorry to say. If you have then you could probably insist on them holding to it.
Why don't you go to the bank and and get £105 pounds worth of 10 pence's and go back and see how they like to be arsed around!!!

good idea! its called 'misleading pricing ', 'significant inconvinience' 'consequential costs' are all good phrases to throw at em. they had the part over a week as well! said theyd phone , never did! my no was on the receipt!. let em send it back! ill lose my fiver theyll lose 10% restocking fee! see my new all singing all dancing thread!
