Just driven to Dover and back through the continuous roadwork that is the motorway system of GB to take Stuart for his first job interview. For a position as a Deck officer Cadet. he got it. I was dead chuffed for him. Made the drive worth while.
But referring to the other thread about job training. the standard here is for the sponsoring company to pay all tuition fees costs and expenses at University, pay a training grant (not taxed) of around £750 a month, and provide sea training time. the only commitment is to work hard, pass the training and spend a further 2 years with the company. seems to be a job where they take training seriously.
then the best bit is that his sponsoring company is the Holland America line, the absolute top quality cruising company. and guess who gets family discount!!!!
