Whilst your correct in some ways there Bear, the so called "victims" of racial hate are taking advantage of the mealy mouthed do gooders.
What has happened to our country when the indigenous inhabitants start to defend the immigrants. Certainly a lot come to work and enjoy a better life yet we know the majority are here to plunder our health and social services.
There needs to be a barrier raised, and very quickly because this country cannot support all the mixed tensions that are being raised by this incessant pouring of monies on immigrants and the lack of affordable housing for our own population. Yet fall out of a plane, float in on a boat, sneak in on the euro tunnel or the back of a lorry and your in a 5 bed house and on 1500 a week. Visiting your local mosque, bad mouthing this country.
Not really how this country should work, we send more money abroad to help "3rd world" countries than we do to try and stop bad hygiene in our hospitals. We pay doctors from Europe to work on weekends in casualty departments for 4 times a british doctor would earn. ALL THIS COMES FROM US, ALL OF US IN TAXES. Isn`t the point of paying tax to improve OUR lives. Not sort out every tosspot country or immigrant to have a life of fun?

there are always folk willing to jump on a bandwagon to further whatever gripes they have ox. politicians dont use political correctness out of any real sence of being right but rather as a synical ploy to capture votes!.
as to immigration im all for a total stoppage we are after all only a small island with limited resources and to alllow wholesale immigration is just plain wrong. the argument that they work and pay tax's dosnt work as far as i am concerned, nor does the argument that immigrants are willing to do the jobs we are not. fact is at least 30 years ago employers decided that it was not cost effective to train future employee's (bloody accountants) and now this country is reaping what it has sown. succesive governments have not done any where near enough to ensure folk are trained in proper jobs prefering to brag about how many of our youth gets a university place.... lets face it how many bloody media studies grads does a country need. its not like they (the students) actually study anything usefull is it! the heir to the throne (in time at least) studied art history ffs. where are the folk wanting to be doctors and scientists and engineers?
no bloody way is everyone in former eastern block countries a tradesman (plummers , sparks, ect) and yet in they come ( as you well know ox with your nigerian polak fake engineer)
The CBI needs to stop worrying about cost and consider value. they need to stop sending factories to any old shi*hole where they can pay a quid a month to the new employee's, they need to put profit aside for a moment and think about the country that founded their bloody empires and put summat back!
politicians should also remember they are public SERVANTS and need to give us, their employer some real choices. it costs the UK 115 million a week to be in the european club, i want to see what we actually get for that cash (nearly 6 billion quid ) and if the books dont balance then a refurendum on wether we leave should be given. im sick of this country sending aid only for that money to line some corrupt despots pocket rather than actually help anyone, just as much as i am sick of hearing about our elected representitives basically stealing from the tax payer to give their family members a non job. our government is as corrupt as any third world one and it gets worse on a daily basis it seems.
blame labour if you like but in reality it will make not one jot of difference when and if the tories get in nor would it make a difference if by some miracle the lib dems got to set up house at number 10.

There in lies the problem, the majority of shareholders in the larger conglomerates are "old" money and have no interest in the lives of "us poor people". They thrive on the cheap labour coming into this country. Even Worse they send call centres to Delhi and beyond for as you say a "quid a month".
Really good to have a person with english as a second language to run a help desk, when they cannot even pronounce your name correctly!
This country can vote for whom ever they like, the truth is NOTHING WILL CHANGE.
Who ever comes in has a slight problem, the SYSTEM (not wanting to sound like the film School of Rock) but it does. The , any Government is run by the invisible people who commute all week to work in cramped trains and want more for themselves. A party may loose an election and another gain, but the bureaucrats remain. This is the problem.
A problem which shall remain until a revolution, which in reality will not happen for they already have us under control.

Ox has hit the nail on the head. It doesn't matter what political party is in power, the civil servants run the day to day workings of the country always have and always will.
As long as they are all right, the rest of us can get stuffed. and if you're not in their old boy network you wont get anywhere.
I don't know what the stats are for the whole country but in Scotland now more than half of the workforce are employed by national or local government, nhs or similar. who is making wealth? we have an ageing population and an increasing non productive labour force. the economy can't run like this.
