Ive just read on the UK Yahoo site that people who kill whilst driving"carelessly" will not automatically go to prison unless there are other factors(drinking etc). However the article listed types of "careless driving" and included-Driving to close/Overtaking on the inside/jumping a red light. In my ,not inconsiderable experience all theses acts are carried out WITH malice aforthought and therefore cannot be considered as merely careless-but reckless. How the hell can you overtake on the inside-jump a red light or drive to close without realising it???? And as a result kill someone??? as is always until the law maker is personally affected(his wife is killed on the school run cos a chav in an Astra Gti overtook on the inside as she wasnt driving fast enough)-the law will never favour the victim

the police are too worried bout bein sued for victimisation if they pull anyone over
or even look at anyone on 4 wheels

Everyday I watch cars go thru red lights undertake and other "serious" offences.
Yet they go untouched. Now with this new regime what hope have we for the ever lowering driving standards being displayed these days?
Our police are far too restricted and lawyers too ready to offer no win no fee lawsuits. The worm has turned so to speak, we now hold more power than the police. Just in case it costs them their warm cosy overtime.
In my profession we have to submit a risk assessment to the local force about any possible problems if an alarm system goes off and they are called. Not only do we have to send special "confirmed" signals we have to warn them about dogs cats rabbits, if the house has a cellar or a pool, A high fence. If they do not like it they wont come!
Same for fire systems, if the building is know to be empty they will not use "blues and twos" to arrive at the scene!!!!!

Health and Safety gone MAD.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, beer in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming
