Anybody know why I can't find a heal toe shifter - Posted on 2008-01-08 08:00:23

Hey...I would like to put a heal toe shifter on my 750 Aero. I've been able to find a heal toe shifter for a Harley for $24.95 the closest I've been able to come is a set of the floorboard and the heal toe shifter for....$460.00. No kidding. I don't want to buy a new bike just not wear out the toe of my boots on the shifter. Any thoughts??? Maybe if there's a machine that can cut one out somebody may know where one is and who can do it for me...???

I'm not a Harley man but I'm willing to bet, if you can't find one for your model, it'd be way cheaper to buy one from Ebay and get it machined to fit your shaft. But then you might have more discerning tastes than me, I'm the sort of bloke who makes seat pans out of old fish boxes. -- 27 yards of dental floss and she still won't give me a smile...

I didn't like it, never used the heely bit. On some of the Harleys I believe they use 2 levers on the one shaft. That might be an option for you if you have room to play with. I reckon your local bike shop could point you in the direction of a decent engineering place if you find something you can mod. -- 27 yards of dental floss and she still won't give me a smile...
