Just received this;
Thanks to all who spread the details up to their contacts in Africa, an employee of the South African Embassy in Congo got in touch to offer to assist. The local authorities in Congo assisted by enquiring along all the points on the river where they have officials. The news came back that the 2 bikers were still delayed on the river further up in the jungle and it was not certain how long it will be before they eventually get to Brazzaville, but they are okay.

Turns out there is a drought there and the boat is stranded and no one has a sat phone.
They are still stranded but apparantly have a large supply of beer lol.
