A few peope have asked me over the years about touring on a motorcycle,and the most common question,whats best motorcycle to tour on ....the one in your garage,parked outside your house mate,yep the one you own ...from a honda 50cc to a pan european it doesnt matter ,get out and ride it ..
KNOW YOUR MOTORCYLE..
yep dumb subject i know ,but really important ,buy a haynes manual ..leave it in the tiolet and read ....and read ...and read ..test ....whats yer wifes,boyfriend,hubbys birthday ...easy?ok whats tyre pressure ...oil type ,spark plug grade for your bike ???getting the picture ?...know your bike ..

have you enough petrol to get you to garage ? A GOOD TIP IS WHEN YOU HAVE DONE 100 MILES FIND A FILLING STATION ..DONT RELY ON THE NEXT ONE YOU SEE!!
know your oil level and grade
coolant top up or check the type
electrics ..check yer bulbs.got spares ,...
tyre check, plus trye pressures...

OK GO TO YOUR NEAREST SUPERMARKET AND BUY A SIX PACK!!
then go to your local dealer and ask to see the mechanic ...ask him about what tools you need for your bike to undo every nut,bolt washer ,allen bolt and torque screw on your bike
HAND OVER BEERS!
whats point in takin tools you,ll never use ,..and you will be surprised how few tools you need
i use an army mag puoch as a tool roll under bike ..plus with tools i carry a torch with new batts in waterproof bag ...£10 ..
