Well its finally hit Ł1 a litre for petrol and a staggering 65.3p going to the government as either duty or VAT.

Further increases are expected over the next few weeks, its scary to see the litres going up faster than the price.

As per usualy just expect nothing from the government.

bear 1300cc Superstar Joined: Friday, October 29, 2004 Posts: 5790 Location: cumbria United Kingdom	still under the quid up here..... mostly. yep the gov is taking to much tax on fuel, no doubt about it, but the current increases are down to the cost of a barrel of oil. the investor/speculator types have been buying into oil for a while now and this of course pushes up the price. so there are a bunch of exeptionally rich bastids causing us all problems.it aint just the government (though for sure they are sitting back and doing nothing to take the pressure off us and i dont expect they will either). -- revenge is a dish best served...............with croutons
