basically its a story about a serving army officer in uniform being refused service at a BP garage by an asian worker. BP are saying its a simple mistake regarding a missinterpritation of the licencing laws (summat about not being able to serve a police officer in uniform and the worker making an inccorect assumption that the rule applied to soldiers as well), however witnesses stated that the worker refused to serve the officer due to his anti war stance.
I for one wont be using BP stations again. BP have swept the incident under the carpet by saying they are retraining thier staff etc .......yeah yeah blah bloody blah tell em owt and they will soon forget etc.

they will send out a standard form letter/reply but the more folk who rant at em the more likely it is that incidents like this will not happen again.
that worker has a job and a wage in no small part due to the actions of that officer and soldiers like him, but apparently some simple curtesy and respect for this countries fighting men is beyond the said employee. BASTID!

why does this not seem at all surprising. its the way we are heading. as for respect for our armed forces, what a joke. most of this country dont give 2 hoots. i say this as an ex service man myself, no respect what so ever from most. its soon rememberance day, and all they ask is people take 2 minutes out of their life to stand still and be quiet, while they remember those who are no longer with us, have a look about and see how those that do are in the small minority. most kids dont even know about it.

I`ve sent a reply to them as well.
As for servicemen and women they are never forgotten. My children also know about the wars, the sacrifices.
The problem is today History is disguised and made politically correct. Sod that tel the truth!
