Today extended a old Aiphone entry system for a local authority for a dear old lady.
Basically I took off her old handset and fitted a new Entryphone one then extended the cables and added another to her bedroom and kitchen. Then added a second release to the internal door so she can now open both the front and flat door each with its own button from the 3 locations.

She was chirpy and when I told her i was finished she was amazed, bless her.
The sparks had arrived to fit some extra lights for her as well and she was all over the place on her little walking frame getting in the way all the time, but cheerful and a giggle.

As i was leaving she asked if i knew how old she was and i said not wanting to sound rude but your at least 65 (now i had been told she was 94)

She started to laugh and said she was 98 next month and that to get rid of her she would need to be shot! She then thanked me as i left with tears of laughter in my eyes.

I`ll pop a card in as she is local.

What a star.

Thought I would share that moment!

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, beer in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming

its nice to hear of people of her age still living in their own homes, too many end up in residental care, some coz the family can';t be arsed with them.
good on her, i hope she enjoys the rest of her days
