Now they are removing all parking meters and machines. You park now and there is a number on the post where you are. Phone it input the post number and credit card details then put in the minutes you wish to park (maximum 240, 4 hours) then they say 4 quid an hour plus a 20p surcharge. Do you want a text to say your near the limit, thats extra as well!!!

Got hit by my 1st one today, still don't know how the receipt is sent out, told the office if they see ***FILTERED WORD*** e on my company card and no proof of expenditure to ring the council!

Bloody liberty to do this and its on a 0870 number.

so what about the people who don't have a mobile? or a credit card? there are some.

some places now - Dublin, Edinburgh and coming soon in Glasgow, you can phone a number on the ticket machine and pay with a pre registered credit card. the machine still prints a ticket so you get a rceipt that way.

and your point is................?

But it will be ok because one day you wont even need to travel or go outside your 'cell' . You will instead be automated . You will enter how many minutes you will anticipate using oxygen, viewing time, and your food will be delivered down a timed shaft in the form of tablets . And then we will be exterminated at a certain age.We will be allowed out only for emergencies and then we will step onto paternosters that will take us up or down a level or across the 'mother cell' . And then we will be exterminated at a certain age. please add to this futuristic view.

Depends on the time of day for one thing.

M1, A406, Hanger Lane, Kew Bridge, Mortlake, Roehampton.

M1. M25.A3 Roehampton, more miles but quicker out of rush hour.

Not many other options really.

Just checked The AA their route map is the same as my first if yo take the starting point as Brent Cross.
However do not try that at 8 am or it will take hours lol.

Yep and we have use of some of the bus lanes too.

Though there is talk of charging bikes in the future.
