Gordon Brown is living in a fairytale if he thinks he can sign that bloody EU thingy without asking us isn't he? Surely it can't go through without us saying whether we want it or not can it? Get signing the suns petition about it. We get our legs lifted enough in this country now enough is enough we need to put a stop to him and BLAIRs idea about been president of Europe. I can't even think about how horrenous it would be if this country was not ruled by itself, we already know what stupid daft ideas europe come up with do u want that in your everyday life? My grandparents fought off Hitler so we could be our own nation, now this prick wants to hand it to them on a plate r u having a laugh!!!

vote for labour thats what you get.

and all to make Blair first president.

even the countries which did have a referendum and rejected it are now going to be shafted.

bring on independance for Scotland

MP's really dont like referendum's and it tends to be a very rare thing indeed. Both labour and conservative hate em with a passion cos it takes away their power to rule over us and implement stupid bloody laws.
The referendum that took this country into the EEC was a huge gamble for Heath and one that paid off for him (the lying git got the nickname the missleading seaman over that ).
Thing is the two main parties want to remain in the EU and also they want to adopt the Euro as currency but they know they have to give a referendum on dumping the pound and they also know they will lose it. I also suspect that if such an event happened there would be demands for a referendum to take us out of europe, something they dont want as they think they would lose that as well. The Lib dems proposed a referendum on the EU at their conference this year (dunno if it got enough votes to put it on thier manifesto though) but then the Libdems know they stand little chance of ever being elected to power so they can promise anything they bloody want.
We seem to be stuck with Europe unfortunatly. Oh and Cameron would do exactly the same as Brown cos despite the tories haing a few euro sceptics the vast majority of em want to remain in the EU not to mention the bit about whats the point of being in government if you have to allow the bloody voters to have a say!
sack the bloody lot of em i say.

gixxer....it does appear that the UK is the only country in europe that takes any notice of euro laws. france sure as hell dosnt (mind you their citizens tend to get very stroppy if they get annoyed at politicians). I struggle to understand how if britain is the 4th richest country on the planet (as is often reported) why our old folk arnt better off than folk in the same age bracket that live in italy . The EU in europe does seem to be more aimed at actually making sure the citizens are looked after whereas in the UK it seems to be aimed more at making sure big business and the rich are better off.
