I hope anyone that is out that way or knows of anyone there is safe and well. They think its going to hit land in a poor part of Mexico, where the houses aren't built that well so there is no doubt going to be alot of homeless if it does. Its hit a cat 5 status so its a big one. A friend of mine is out in Grenada at the mo I hope they haven't been affected.

I said I wanted to go to Mexico for our xmas holiday this might just have changed my mind.

it hit the Dominican yesterday but only the south i believe. It started after St Lucia so it never passed over there but they may have still had some strong winds and rain.

There saying in texas on the weather here that when Dean hits Mexico it will be a Cat. 2 or Cat 3 if it gets stronger again. When it hit the Yukatan it hit as a Cat 5 with winds 165mph with gust up to 200mph. Now that's a strong Cat 5. & i have road out a Cat 4 & a Cat 3 hurricane. If your on the west side of the eye, your on the best side of the storm. You see the east side is the side that gets all the twisters & all the damage out of it, the west side don't get nothing out of it. They have lifted the evacuation orders for southern texas as of last night. They were saying that they think it will hit about 175 miles south of the southern bourder of texas and southern texas has had alot of flooding last weekend from Erin. Odds are i'll stay put in waco, texas. Ya all take care & ride safe, Lou

I know we moan about the weather in the UK but at least we don't get hurricanes and earthquakes and volcanos erupting. Well not of any really power anyway.

I was on the beach at Anderby two days ago and I think Hurricane Dean was there!!! Even the dog was trying to walk backwards and when we got home he was a totally different colour - we all got sandblasted!

Seriously tho thoughts and wishes to those it Dean's path, must be extremely extremely frightening and devastating.
