Hi, I'm new here. I just got my first Harley after several Jap bikes. A '97 Stortster Custom. Very clean, only 7800 miles and I've only had it 2 days. Rode it 3 times. Tonight the darn turn signals quite working. Ooops! The manual only says those are controleed by a microprocessor. Silly me, I thought it could be something simple like a fuse. I tried cutting it off, hopeing something would re-set. I'm an electronic tech so I'm not afraid of it but I don't have a proper service manual and don't want to mess with it without one. Anyone had this problem and can steer me in the right direction? Thanks, Martin

Harley are strang old things, I know, I had a sporty [06 model] and now got a dyna [much nicer]. Without a workshop maunual/wiring diagram I wouldn't go near the electrics if I were you. Why not contact your nearest HD dealership or go on line and request the required drawing/instructions, could maybe save you a ***FILTERED WORD*** -load of grief in the long run esp if you go 'fiddling' under the seat and cock it up.
best of luck.

Pugs had a boyfriend before she went back to France- he rode a Harley, and I thought it was much more impressive than her Ducati. Much nicer than J-P's Fireblade too.

I hope you got this worked out. I think you'll love your Sporty. Is it an 883 or 1200? I would check online for the info you need. Sporties are very fast (one of the original race bikes), and lay down nicely around the curves. I did add a stage I screaming eagle kit to mine this year. I've also added nearly 40,000 miles to her in the two years since I bought her. Have fun! Ride safe and good luck!

I really like this site. Hope that we can be friends. Come and visit me on my website if you would like. I have over 65,000 photos, mpegs, free and pay. I am a true blue biker with almost 150,000 miles on my ass in the last 8 years. I ride my own Spor

Chances are its the turn signal module....expensive !! Plenty of used ones around but you will need the exact one so check out the part number on it....it will be 5 numbers followed by a - then the year it was introduced ...ie 45350-95. About £50 second hand ..3 times the price new !
