I am a biker in the literal sense of the word as in i ride a bike. but i don't live the "biker" lifestyle.
i mean come on its not gonna work for me is it, how could i wear my little black Gucci dress and my Prada shades on a bike and there is not enough room for all my shopping bags lol

Is it not all about personal choice? Those who want to join gangs or clubs can, those who don't don't. I like going out on my own sometimes and enjoy the freedom, other times its nice to have company.

and your point is................?

It all seems very elitist to me.
If you want to be part of some gang and live a particular lifestyle then that is fine but it does not mean that you are more of a biker than someone else, it just means that you are a biker with a different lifestyle.
You can still live that lifestyle without owning or riding a bike. Being a biker has nothing to do with it.

Heres another example ...
(mispelt for the sake of filtering/decency)
A person who wnaks = A Wnaker
However this doesn't mean the person is an unliked/unpleasant individual
(soz mark i couldnt resist bein sirry in a kinda serious way)

Totally agree Mark there is a lot of crap talked about bikers as you said if you ride a bike you one doesnt matter if its at weekends although some so called weekend bikers I know ride more miles in a weekend then some called lifestyle bikers ride in a month. If you want to join a gang your choice its all about freedom of choice although its interesting how the so called Power rangers are slagged off because of bright leathers ect and yet the uniform of a so called hard core biker is long hair or shaven head usually a beard and tattoo's everyone is different but if you ride a bike you are by definition a biker.

dont think you have to be in a club or owt or like rock music or have a beard to be a biker.you dont even have to have a bike.theres just a certain attitude bikers have.they aint dicks, dont set out to piss others off an have a healthy respect for people.me,i like 99% of bikes.cruisers, sports, chops whatever.i can see the point in em all.one thing i dont do is slag people off just cos of their choice of bike.thats just childish.if yer need to ask what a biker is,you def aint one.

This one could go on forever ...i have been slagged off for years for riding Harleys....i dont slag others off for their choice of bike.....i have no hair ..long goatee beard and tattoos...my choice...not in a club ...my choice... its all to their own .... a farmer once said to me in a pub opposite a cattle market that all bikers looked the same...i looked around the pub and they all looked the same in tweed ties etc... some bikers look like the "lifestyle" bikers some dont...it doesnt matter....but there is an element of people who ride bikes that arent bikers in the sense of the word. This could be argued all day though. Its a full way o life with some people and not with others.

ok here goes!
1, someone who goes to work on a scooter/c90 just as a cheap way to get to work=not a biker ok?
2, another someone who rides a bike at any excuse/opportunity , talks , builds , repairs and argues bikes to the cost of relationships, careers etc=biker ok?
now argue about the ones in between ?

I'm a biker, but I dont repair mine myself (as I wouldnt have the foggiest as to what to do), but then I also ride it into work everyday - cause I got no other way of getting there, so where does that leave me??

I reckon if you've got a bike and love it then you're a biker if thats what you want to be. Doesn't matter if you're a power ranger or a memeber of the village people or a bloody viking. Doesn't matter what your bike is either. Scoots, trikes, C90s all count too. I reckon a person knows if they're a biker or not and if they think they are then they probably are. I'm not one though. I'm a Motorbicyclist.
