I'm doing a trial 'luggage up' before my trip on Wednesday, my soft Kappa panniers have come down from the loft and were put up there a million years ago. Anyone know how to fit them correctly?

They have two thick velcro'd straps that I assume go over the seat, then four elasticated bands, but they're not the type with hooks, they've got these weird little plastic 'cog' type mechanisms? Heeelp!!

I have a Kappa luggage rack on the bike with a top box.

Send all your stuff by parcel force a few days before you set off, then when you get there it'll be waiting for you. you can enjoy the ride to wherever without being lumbered with stacks of luggage. Of course it takes a bit of planning and there huge opportunities for disaster but I know people who've actually done it.

Dunno about the panniers. I've got Heine Gerricks and I've never been particularly happy with them. I just tie them on to wherever they fit best and hope they stay put.

Lets not and say that we did!

lol, well thanks guys (casts back mind to when you could actually get helpful advice)!!

As it happens I found out I could fit it all into my top box so it's ok cuz we're only going for a couple of days. Good job I'm not a typical woman and having to pack all sorts of curling tongs and straighterners and other things!! (sits back and waits for abuse from curling tong types)! Of course the result is I don't look glamorous but who cares!

If anyone does know how to fit them seriously though, I could do with the knowledge for future trips.
