Took my grandduaghter to Swindon Yesterday to buy her new trainers for her Birthday present. Left at 1:30 and was hit by road closures due to rain and flooding. Tried the A429 to Cirencester bit sat for 2 hours and moved 3 miles so diverted to highworth and just got through then got to lechlade and headed for burford on the A40 as its high ground nope road was closed went back and tried the A417 lechlade to cirencester road after going through wtar up to my bonnet decided that this was not a good idea. tried to get through couldnt so pulled into Lechlade Garden centre which was reasonably dry. The nice people kept it open so we could shelter it was now 5pm 3 AND A HALF HOURS AFTER WE LEFT SWINDON FOR WHICH IS USUALLY A 40 MIN DRIVE HOME AT MOST. They had no coffee available but at least a vending machine so got some diet cokes for me and chocolate bars for little catherine as she was a tad hungry (as was I but being a diabetic aint allowed choccy) Rang a frien who has a 4x4 and they managed to get through to us at 8pm and we got home at 9 even his land rover had bonnet under water at times. Have rung garden centre car park is not flooded so car is still safe now just got to wait to see when we can get back to pick it up so what a day on friday but hey at least we all safe hope very one else is take care out there and if you see a blue jag floating past ffs ring me LOL

My garage temporarily became an indoor pool earlier this week. Bikes were ok, they needed a wash anyway, but some tools got drowned. It was filling up faster than I was swooshing it out. My kids were standing on the drive pissing themselves laughin at me running about with a yard brush swearing.
