Thoughts on the debate just past:
Yes Paki is short for Pakistani just as Nigger is a mispronunciation of Nigra (Negro) and it is just as pejorative; some words ARE like stones, once you've thrown one at someone it's going to hurt and you can't stop it.
Never believe something "A bloke down the pub told me", unless you can find someone you trust implicitly who also saw it happen with their own eyes; evil gits can and do try to stir it up for their own ends (Ladies and gentlemen, insert extermist organistion of your choice at this juncture, I will not limit you).
If you walk with swine, people will think you one.
People don't behave like ***FILTERED WORD*** s because of their creed, skin colour or county (an I do mean county) of birth; they do that because they are evil, small minded gits. This sort of behaviour is not the sole prerogative of the landed gentry!
If you get bitten by a dog it is OK to be wary of other dogs, only a complete penishead would suggest that all dogs should be put down.
Beer is good.
Tarring all members of one race or religion with the same brush is more than slightly daft. It can be likened to comparing that nice old lady down the road who goes to church every day and would give you her last penny with the "religious" right who believe that killing people for god is probably a good thing.
I would take a very strong minded atheist to stand on the roof of a church during a thunderstorm clad in copper armour, arm raised aloft and scream "All gods are b'stards!".
