hi folks, just read this on another site and thought after reading one of the previous posts on or around this subject that it may be of interest to some.......
Firstly this is not a racist rant so do not take it that way.

Subject: New Mosque for London!!!!!!

Please read.

Don't know if you have heard about this but Ken Livingstone is apparently
planning to use tax payer's money to build an enormous mosque costing an
estimated Ł100M in the docklands.
Wouldn't it be better to spend the money on a new hospital or improved
transport facilities, anything but such a scheme as this?

The mosque will be BIGGER THAN ST PAUL'S!!!
The plan is for the mosque to be so big so that people flying in from all
over the world for the 2012 Olympics will see it as the biggest landmark
in London , bigger than St Pauls, Westminster Abbey or Wembley Stadium.
The vote so far is 56 % in favour. It looks like the Muslim community in
the UK is casting its vote in droves, and as usual the British are burying
their heads in the sand...
It is an undemocratic use of British Tax payers money, especially when our
Churches that are 100's of years old get no government funding to keep
their

structures standing, and we are supposedly a Christian Nation.

bear 1300cc Superstar Joined: Friday, October 29, 2004 Posts: 5790 Location: cumbria United Kingdom	it seems that the story of a 100 million pound mosque being built by red ken is a load of old tosh. bearing in mind the cost of building large errrrrmm buildings in london 100 million would seem to be quite cheap for something that was gonna be bigger than St Pauls. The idea of it was/is to cause outrage etc and if it were true then it would be a national disgrace for tax payers money to be used to further a religions cause. This country should remain entirely secular and not get involved with churches of any kind, it is the responsibility of members of a religion to fund such projects. If they ( followers of Islam) raised the cash to build the mosque then fair enough let em try to get the planning permission , i have a feeling that no matter how PC this countries politicians have become, those at council planning boards would not grant permission for something on this scale that is exclusive to a minority religion. Its a hoax when all is said an done, the London mayoral elections are coming up so perhaps the story is there to discredit livingstone in the eyes of the electorate. I notice the baffoon Boris Johnstone is planning (or at least considering )to stand. People of london will eventually decide but heres hoping that whoever gets in (assuming london gets rid of red ken, and thats far from a forgone conclusion by the way) does a good job. Im still not sure wether having a mayor is a good thing for any city ( im not talking the ceremonial lord mayor thing where some council "worthy" is given some robes and a chain of office for a year for "outstanding service to the community" or whatever but a Mayor with political powers such as London has) Why would a British city need such a thing? We arnt in America ffs. Anyway iv digressed from the original subject but at the end of the day i dont care, its a non story designed to cause anger and trouble ( as if we needed more of either). -- revenge is a dish best served...............with croutons

It was totally self funded, they bought the land obtained planning permission built a new school and although they used imported labour it has also produced more local jobs after its opening. It holds open days for everyone to enjoy the majestic carvings and build quality, free meals for anyone who cares to wonder in and nothing but friendliness is offered, I know because I maintain their electronic security gates. I think too many associate one religion with another or tar people with the same brush. -- Try being truthful, its the thing to do

We live in enlightend times and WE should not allow our representitives to cowtow to faiths of any kind. our schools should be secular (like in france ffs the french have got it sussed before us damn it!) as should our publicly funded places (hospitals library's prisons etc) We dont live in the bloody stone age and NO-ONE should try to make us. if a church of whatever denomination wants a building then they should pay for it but tax payers money should not be made available to em... no bloody way. -- revenge is a dish best served...............with croutons
