If you cannot install Java on the Java website you can try to do it manually. Click the following and run the installation: http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=11145 Assuming that Java is actually installed from www.java.com and your PC passes the tests on that site or you have installed it manually using the link above, try the following: Have a look at: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/enable_browser.xml http://www.java.com/en/download/help/enable_panel.xml If you are using internet explorer as your web browser do the following: Launch Internet Explorer, then select; Tools->Internet Options - 'General' tab Then delete 'Browsing History'which will delete temporary files Now select the 'Security' tab. Click the 'Custom Level' button. Enable 'Scripting of Java applets'. Now click the 'Advanced' tab. Scroll to the 'Java (Sun)' section and make sure 'Use JRE...' is ticked. Click on on all the open windows and restart your browser. See if it helps.

If it works don't mess with it. Curiosity killed the cat Martin.
