Mr Ton and myself want to go to Southern Ireland to celebrate his 50th birthday this summer and we'd like to go on the bikes, on a ferry and stay in a B & B.
We are new to the concept of ferries/bikes etc and would like any help such as recommendations of places to go, what type of ferry and what company etc etc. Any help would be brilliant as we're total virgins in this type of thing!
Help please (and will my bike fall over on the ferry because I'm a little worried about that), oh, and will I lose my balance on the ferry and fall off my bike when I ride it off? (I get a bit sea sick, don't chuck up but don't feel great either)!!

stenna line are normally good when we use them, they give you plenty of tie down straps and plenty of space between bikes. we always secure our own bikes but there are staff on hand to help if you want them. leave the bike in gear to make it more stable. the ramps on any ferry tend to be the worst part, but in reality they are not bad at all, just keep it steady and you will be fine. dont take the car as you wont have half as much fun. enjoy

n eiterh, put your gloves on the seat before they run the strap across it to strap bike down, or take a t-shirt/towel (whatever) and use that, cos the straps squish very hard n some seats get bent outta shape - so you end up with space for a torch under ya lol!!
but if girly baby can do it, anyone can, you'll be fine, the thinking is much worse than the doing it. x

if you want southrn irl go to dunlaoire or northwwall in dublin. from liv or wales
60 miles to wexford an then you can tour dublin, cork, waterford, kerry, loads of b&bs but hotels are better and you can get good deals on lne. loads of €50 pn night hotels per room. scenery is maginificent. ireland is quite small 300 max or less top to tail
