lagar is the beer equivelant of an alchopop, made so girls can say "ye I drink beer", often drank with a little lime to girl it up even more, real beer is like a real man, takes a while to settle but after a while on it, your well and truly f*cked

Errrrmm actually there is no such drink as lager, its a process . Its a german phrase "to lager" which means to store. the actual drink yer refering to (that orrible fizzy muck sold in pubs and called lager) is actually a pilsner. You can have dark "lagers" as well. Pilsner's and other lagered beers are brewed using a bottom fermenting yeast and brewed when the weather is cold (traditionally tho today they use refrigeration) the fermentation takes about 6 weeks to complete and the resulting drink is a kinda sweet(ish) beer. they are not extensively hopped which makes the "lager" a sweet(ish) and refreshing beer for a summer day. The dark and Black lagered beers are more malt driven and are generally stonger and drunk in the winter. Some pilsners are quite strong (special brew for instance @9%abv tho that stuff is tramp juice). Modern pasturised "lagers" are full of chemicals and taste of nowt and are not worth drinking if they are brewed under licence in the UK. However if you are fortunate enough to ever come across a pub that sells proper german lagered beer give it a go tis bloody lovley. Bear- brewer of fine ale and all round clever bugger.

As much as I like a pint of tui sav, you cant beat a proper pint of real ale.though it does give a cracking hangover. Oh and speights makes me go to the toilet a lot.
