first of all I hope she gets found alive and well as soon as possible. BUT why oh why on earth r the parents not been stoned for leaving her and her brother and sister alone!!! i don't care how far up the road they were it was too far away from them, how u could leave them there alone i have no idea, to my mind they r as much to blame as the vile stinking bassa that has took her. that poor little girl is going through god knows what just cos her parents couldn't be arsed to stay in. children get snatched all the time even when u r careful but that was just a bloody open invite. please God is ok and is found soon.

Totally agree with ya Roebs! I'm sure the parents are going through hell now but what on earth possessed them to leave their children alone in a strange house/apartment in a foreign country? Maybe they should claim mental insanity! Sorry but there is no excuse for poor parenting, it's just a shame that they are now finding out the hard way and that their poor little girl has had to suffer the consequences of their stupid stupid stupid and selfish behaviour. Let's hope that the poor little lass is found soon x

p.s. I've been to Luz and all of the people I met there could not do enough for me during my stay, so I'm sure the parents are getting full support from the locals.

true what you say roebs. and whatever the parents are going through think what the wee girl might be suffering. There is just no way any responsible parent would have done as they did. and they're both Doctors ffs!!! not layabout druggies or any excuse like that.

sorry ana i disagree with ya ............. i do agree that blame is pointless BUT to my mind they were not doing there duty as a parent by not been there. I have sat outside on my garden when sandie has been in bed but i have sat near the patio door all the other doors locked and i have always had a dog that would bark if anyone came on to my property. They were sat how ever many meters away behind a wall in a restaurant with lots of talking probably music with no chance of been able to see or hear anything that was happening across the road. if they had been sat on there balcony or garden at the property and she had still been taken that would have been a totally different matter, no blame could be put at there feet at all but they weren't even there and whoever took her has probably been watching so it would have been a piece of piss for him/her to take maddie. they made it easy for it to happen in a nutshell and that is not been a responsible parent.

The whole situation is just a nightmare, the parents ars going through the hell that all parents fear the most and we dont know what type of people are holding the wee girl. For me, the blame game can wait !! Im sure the parents feel responsible and will be blameing themselves for ever more but for now i think they need all the support and maddie needs all the help thats availible. Its just horrible.

Its just dreadful..How long can they stay there in reality. I would not be able to return to this country until there was some conclusion.I just could nt leave knowing that my child was out there alone. Have heard all sorts of things on radio and someones child was taken and 16 years later the mother thinks that Ben as he was called was probably sold to a childless couple. I am worried to admit this but I hope, (and with some doubt in saying this out loud, because you can be wrong about these things)...and dont think it was a Portuguese that took this little girl. The Algarve is full of tourists as we all know and someone said they were near the Spanish Border so she could be in Spain.. does anyone know any more about this?

parents have a responsibility to care n look after there kids. I couldnt believe my eyes when i opened the daily rag n seen that the other 2 kids where even younger than maddie. Wot on earth where they thinking leaving them for half an hour at a time, it takes a few minutes to choke, they r only babies for god sake. I hope they find her alive, but time is passing by with no news. Ben Needham's parents have had 17 years of not knowing there little boy. How can u live with that......... i feel for maddies parents, but they made the choice of a meal or a nite in!!!!!!!

They were apparently with a group of other doctors. Did none of them have children . Did they leave them too? I cant make head nor tail of this.. Also the mother came back screaming 'They ve taken her' Who are 'They' are?.. If I had seen my child was missing I would have probably screamed She s gone she s not there .I cant find her anywhere and the window is open. I just dont know what she meant .

A Quote from the bbc news website "Meanwhile, Madeleine's uncle, John McCann, from Glasgow, countered criticism from those who say the couple were wrong to leave their children alone in the holiday apartment while they ate dinner at a nearby restaurant. "If you look at the layout of that place, it was entirely safe. The issue at stake here was, that the flat was broken into, and wee Madeleine was abducted," he told BBC Radio Five Live. " pmsl .........if u look at the layout of that place, it was entirely safe. well if it was that safe how come someone managed to break in and take her!!!!!!!! AND would it have been soooooooo easy for someone to break in if there had been adults in there!!! u still have a chance that someone would have tried it but the odds r a lot greater that they wouldn't if there had been someone in!!!!! that poor little girl is god knows where with god knows who having god knows what done to her and her parents should be locked up to for allowing this to happen. the more time that goes by the less chance there is of finding her.

Im sure there aware of how stupid and irresponsible of them it was to leave their kids unattended, im not condoneing or excusing their actions. How could they have done that, i know i wouldn`t consider it for a moment but that dosen`t change the reallity of the situation. I already regret contributing to this thread, i felt at the time of reading it that this wasn`t the ideal time or place to air our veiws but felt i had to say something. Yes its a free world and the site allows discusion on any topic, but how can we read and post about this grim situation and then go on and reply to some meaningless crap on another thread. (meaningless in comparison) I dont think an online witch hunt against the parents is appropriate and i would rather have not been a part of it. Send them to jail ?? for god sake , what about the young twins then? I can only imagine the turmoil and pain the whole family are going through and if you think they are not being punished at the moment what about the rest of there lifes? It goes without saying that my main concern is to see the wee girl home alive and well and pray that that will be very soon like all of us im sure.

please don't misunderstand what i am saying .............. i hope beyond everything that Maddie is found alive and well, and i can't tell ya how much she is on my mind ........ i can't stop thinking about her. I'm not after some sort of witch hunt BUT i am consumed with anger at how 2 parents could leave 3 children alone in a house in a different country whlie they go off and have a meal and drinks. I could have almost expected it if they were some sort of scum bags who didn't give a shit about thier children but these people r supposed to be pilars of the community upstanding citizens and professional people so what possessed them to do it? I'm sure this will haunt them for the rest of thier lives even if they do get her back but its no less than they deserve after what they have allowed to happen to her. I'm sorry but i can't see it any other way than its thier fault for not been there. and y can i post a comment on this thread and then go and post some meaningless crap on another? because thank god this is not my child and i am not going through this, selfish? yeah too right it is but guess what there is this and a million other horrific things going off in the world ever day and all i can do is try to get me and mine through it as best i can ......... so i think a little light relief is needed from time to time to help that happen.
