just had a leaflet through my door saying "vote for labour" in the local elections on 3rd May .......... now i won't be but there was something interesting on this leaflet. Apparently since the Lib Dems took over Chesterfield 4 years ago the car parking charges alone have gone up by wait for it ........... 878% !!!!!!!!!!! and its set to go up by more too and there r threats to charge blue badge holders as well pmsl i thought it was getting more expensive lol and apparently our council are forecasting to lose money between now and 2009 ......... maybe they shouldn't have put that brand new reception and walk way up to the housing office then eh? especially when there was nothing wrong with the old one. its a joke and all the local councils r as bad as one another ........ they should be run as a business, keeping costs done for the consumer, offering good services and all they have to do is manage there money better and not waste it on usless crap!!!!!!!!!

Personally i think that local government (along party lines) should be done away with. the thing is that when you have a central government of one party and local government of various other parties the local ones always seem to try and make the central government look bad by overspending and going for projects that arnt really needed. far better indeed to run local council areas as business's. No more local numpties who want a little bit of power to be worried about then at all. budgets would have to be adhered to as well. Beware those that want to be on the council to "serve the community" cos those bastids are out for anything they can get too line their own pockets and inflate their sence of self agrandesment, a little bit of immortality is what they are after but mostly they want to have the sence of power over the rest of us.
My local government area (copeland) is about to be broken up if we are to believe what we are being told. Apperently it will make the running of the county more efficient (cant see how thats gonna work, cumbria is only slightly smaller than Yorkshire and that has about 5, perhaps more,local council areas. cumbria will end up having 3).
The bin collection bit is annoying the hell out of me right now as the company that tendered to collect the paper, glass tin, and compostables has jacked in and now the county council are talking about doing it in house but im still waiting for the buggers to come and take the crap away!

Tis a sad state of affairs when folk think that voting for th BNP will make the country like it used to be....... you must remember that the BMP like all the rest of em are politicians and as such they lie through their teeth.
They stand NO CHANCE of getting elected to parliament and so try it on in the local elections when folk are more likely to throw their vote away as some form of protest agaisnt the ruling government.
Where the BNP have become elected to councils they have generally failed to do anything constructive at all, indeed they can barely be bothered to turn up for meetings if what is reported is to be believed. So far from getting a reduction in council tax or immigrants or whatever they are promising this week, all you get is a lazy git filling his own pockets (nowt new there then).
I have read a BNP manifesto (it was the proper government election one) and indeed it was written in such a way as to make folk think that they would sort out all our problems whatever they might be, again nowt new there as most political parties promise the earth but generally deliver feck all once elected. You have to understand that any political party has its own agenda and when they are elected the election promises largely go by the wayside as the promises are unworkable, or frivolous. Personally i dont trust the Far right wing of politics, i do hold some pretty strong views on certain subjects (immigration and associated other problems being one of em) however i would never (could never) bring myself to vote for the BNP or the National Front or any of the other "facist" parties simply because i wouldnt trust em to actually keep thier promises let alone know how to run the country with some semblance of competance. The Conservatives were bad enough for 18 years ! (they are a right wing party remember though they are shying away from their roots in recent times as its not PC to actually tell folk what they really believe cos it loses em votes).
All in all i would like to see a Party of any belief actually do something constructive about immigration. Leaving "europe" would be the only real solution to the problem as to limit any or all immigration would be against euro directives (funny how the UK is one of the few euro countries that actually takes any notice of those directives init?) At the end of the day the euro immigrants are here to stay. they are here legally after all and lets face it they are doing jobs that cant be filled. but if they break the law then as soon as they complete their sentance they should be deported. no messing about no appeal nothing. And all this pandering to ethnic demands has to stop as well. recently there was an article about the prison service having to spend over 10K at a prison to put hole in the floor type bogs (also they had to face away from mecca) in place for the ethnics! Now if i broke the law in Turkey for instance and then demanded a proper crapper to sit on do you think for a second they would just say OK matey and put one in? course they wouldnt. Criminals in clink should remember that they are in jail cos they broke the law ffs and not in some bloody holiday camp. Their religion demands certain things of them ....fair enuff but one of the things their religion demands is not to go about breaking the law of the country you are in! If they are happy enough to ignore one facet of their religion why should this country have to shell out cash to ensure they dont offend their religion in any other way. FFS the prison had just updated all the bogs in the prison only to have to rip out some of em to put the squat over a hole in the floor type o things just cos thats what they are used to in their homeland! bollocks they aint at home they are in a prison due to their own behaviour and as such should just get on with their time and get used to the idea that on the day of their release they are being shipped back to the country they came from or any other country daft enough to accept em.
Anyway i digressed a bit from the original subject of the thread with a bit of a rant but Fact is that the BNP aint going to be in power nor is any other extreme right or extreme left party. what the country need is a bunch of ruthless bastards in power folk without any concept of being PC and folk without party agandas to follow. We wont get them either as we the voters are programed to vote for one of three main political beliefs (well the majority are and as such we will either have labour back in or the tories or the libdems). Use your vote wisely! but why waste it on something that would happily see the end of freedom as we know it The far right cant be trusted with political power..... never!

Try this for local goverment, 2 councillors plus the Fire Chief are of to Newzeland all expences paid on a fact finding mission to find out how the Fire Departments over there dispose of their redundant fire fighting equipment, however the local paper goes on to say that the biggest customer to the UK when disposing of our redundant fire fighting equipment is Newzeland. ermmm?

i won't be voting for BNP I will tell ya exactly who i will be voting for .... it will be the tories basically cos they r the only ones that have a chance of getting labour out and they r diabolical. all i want is for Britain to be Britain ......... if people come here from other countries thats fine, so long as they embrace our culture and way of life instead of trying to undermine it and make it there own. if they like there way of life that much then i wish they would stay there. on a practical note tho we have to set a number of people we can allow here, we r running out of space, houses, school places, nhs beds and jobs. u can't let the number just keep going up and up the maths simply don't work. like u said bear about the prison i don't care if they r foreign or not if u r in that place u have handed over your right to have a say in anything. maybe i'm wrong maybe i am living in a fantasy world but is it really too much to ask that the country that i was born in and the country i know stays that way? it should be here like it is in other countries ...... if u go there u take on their rules their regulations and their way of doing things. i don't mean in your own home there u can please yourself but don't try to change our way of life and then make us feel guilty if we don't give it (altho unfortunatly we usually do)
