there is a big debate going on about bin collections. we have our black bin emptied once every 2 weeks and our green bin (cardboard and garden waste) every 2 weeks and our blue box (tin and glass) and blue bag (newspaper) every 2 weeks. now we have been doing this for a couple of years now. and its RUBBISH!!! they want u to recycle but they don't collect plastic which is one of the biggest items u throw away (milk bottles, pop bottles, water bottles and plastic trays that your meat comes in) They say its because we have to reduce the amount we put in landfill for the enviroment and to keep costs down. ok fair enough i'll accept the enviroment bit but they say that it will cut down on our council tax bill pmsl ours has gone up AGAIN we pay £193.00 a month for our council tax and i have to have my bin overflowing for a good few days b4 it gets emptied. But why should i pay more council tax than other people for the exact same service?

I've read somewhere that the scumbags are going to start weighing our rubbish and charging us for anything over a limit that they set....... this is just one more example of rip off Britain at it worst. I have several cats that live indoors and so have to use litter trays. The cat litter being a chalky substance soaks up their pee and needs scraping up and putting in bags to bung in the wheely bin and over a week [we get ours emptied weekly] can add up to quite a weight so I fully expect to be well over the stipulated weight for the bin. Answer: whenever I go out on my bike or in the car I'll carry one of these bags [usually them plastic bread bags] with me and when on a deserted stretch of road said bag will get launched in the hedgerow or onto the tarmac...... call it 're- cycling'. lol
