do u think we will end up going to war over this one too? Iran seem to making a great mountain out of a mole hill. do u recon it might have something to do with the fact that the EU have told Iran they have to stop playing with nuclear weapons?

wil we go to war with iran over the kidnap of navy personel? no! there will be lots of diplomatic talks and shouting matches and nothing concrete will be done. The sailors will go on trial for trespassing in iranian waters and then will be made to issue a public apology on iranian TV before they are released. To attempt a rescue would require knowledge of where the sailors are and also a willingness to put their lives and the lives of the rescuers at risk. Better to wait till they are released and then sink every iranian boat the navy see's both military and commercial. no doubt they reckon that holding the navy folk hostage will give them a bit of leverage when the UN meets to discuss sanctions because of the nuclear stuff the iranians are up to. It wont make a bit of difference to the outcome.

Being ex Navy myself and married to a navy man who was in Falklands War and Gulf conflict.... my thoughts maybe of an entirely diffrent nature. Although I do agree about the talks etc... however it will be some big Navy Bigwig they will want apologies from. My own thoughts are probably not printable here!!

I go with the how the hell did they get taken in the first place bit. surely our troops weren't far from the big ship they were working from, and is there not a carrier or two about. as soon as the iranians came close they should have been warned off and if they didn't respond, sunk. why pander to them? now get the boys back then play hardball
