on entering my local garage today, i was informed that unless i removed my helmet, they would refuse to turn the pumps on! ive only been using the place 20 years! i asked would they refuse a moslem whose face was covered no they said its their religion , oh, i said this is my religion! i think i put approx 40.00 quid a week in my tank(s). f**k em let someone else have it!. AND my religion doesnt include crashing planes into office blocks!
IT WAS A GOOD DAY TILL THEN!!!!!!!!!!AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

that is so annoying, had a similar incident a few weeks back. where exacly are you supposed to put your helmet while filling up, stand it on the nice wet forecourt or leave it balancing on the pumps so someone can knock it off for you. very few bikers would risk doing a ride off anyway, just not worth it for atenners worth of fuel.

tesco and morrisons do the same banks too..... tis bloody annoying to say the least. iv even been required to remove an open faced lid! so its got nowt to do with recognition.....

I know ur gonna hate me for this but I can see their point. That said I would be making everyone take anything off and smile for the camera there are so many dodgy bleeders around.
I have a new lid which is very tight and yes it's annoying when they do that but I can see why.

I can also see the point BUT if thats the rule then it has to be for everyone ....... don't exclude those people that wear the bloody letter box thing and say its ok cos of religion. If its about crime and they want to catch u on camera then surely they should have to remove that thing they wear.

Ive found that if i go into a garage with my crash helmet on ...
Its best to not conceal my sawn-off shotgun ...
In this way it is quite obvious of my intentions and they tend not to argue!
The confusion seems to arise when concealing stuff and hiding your face.
The same rules can probably be applied to vieled people ...
Garage proprietors will possible assume said vieled customers ...
May have explosives on them so wont argue the point!
