Well its finally opened, today was a freebie for locals to see the new stadia at its best and for health and safety checks. Police and Ambulance strategies to be tested and implemented, and a jolly good day out. Today as per i forgot and went to shops to be told quick get over there, so i did without a ticket(oops) all spares were gone so after a quick chat with some of the security chaps i got in :P. Moral there when you know then keep them on your side and wonders happen. Anyway the stadium is fantastic well thought out loads of room and toilets. Access for the disabled and people with small children is second to none. All seats give a great view so no worries like the old stadium. Local parking is frowned upon and indeed best avoided at all costs as if you haven't a residents pass your flucked ( I have two, so all bribes will be gratefully received). Then again public transport here is very good and all stations are within a 5 min walk of the stadium or less. One drawback is the food and drink pricing a pie costs £4.50 yes a meagre meat pie, a pint is £3.50 a coke is £2.00.Even a pie and chips comes to £6.00.. Don't even think about using the restaurants upstairs unless you have won the lotto!!!! The acoustics are brilliant so any concerts will be fantastic i think, but some seats are retracted so there will be slightly less capacity than the 90 000 for football and other events. To which another point the seats are all closer to the pitch, we were able to hear John Barnes and Luther Blisset moaning and puffing away, although Chris Evans was very quiet. So there you go a quick report on the nations new stadium, Any questions pm me and i`ll answer as best as I can about local stuff if your ever down this way for events. cheers

Not a carbuncle, but certainly a laff at pie prices. Very noticeable was northern people happily paying the prices. And some locals. Much better outside the stadium, get there early eat well and enjoy the atmosphere. cheers

but will it still take the piss at half time to get a £4.50 pie or a pint??????! half time at games is a joke no matter which ground you got to.........and thats even if they sell you beer? Leicester for example doesnt sell beer to away fans...grrrrr i wonder how much a genuine ticket will cost before the touts get rich? and why the Feck wasnt it built in the midlands??? ffs it makes perfect sense.....another whole heap of cash being spent in the #Capitol......no wonder the terrorists want to blow it all up! but have no fear i will be visiting there within a season or 3 with the Mighty Villa!!
