...... I'm getting a new car YAY woohoooo :o)
What would one recommend that's economical but cool for a young lass like meself?
I've been thinking about either an Audi A3 1.6 SE or 1.9 TDI, or VW Golf TDI or 1.4/1.6 petrol?
I would definitely not have another Renault or Peugeot, thought about Ford's but they don't really float me boat, I lurve the Alfa 147 but need to rely on it getting me to and from work everyday without costing £600 a day to run pmsl
Any other ideas would be appreciaited..... asap please I have two weeks to get otherwise I'll be carless......eeeeeek
I'm hoping to have enough money left over to put toward a new bike too, so as cheap as possible please lol

I can spend up to £4k, the least the better as should have enough for a new bike then!!
Looking at an Audi A3 tmw with very low mileage, already done HPI check and all clear with mileage verified..... fingers crossed that it's been well looked after :o)

Thanks vfor, the Audi is my preference although I am aware that the VW is always an equivalent of an Audi made by the same engineers, etc.
The trouble is that the VW's I've seen have been more expensive and with higher miles than the Audis!
I also have quite a tight timescale i.e. 2 weeks! My current car is being collected by the buyer on 31st March and I need a replacement vehicle on/by the same weekend otherwise I can't get to work.
It's all go as I'm actually moving house the same weekend so would like to get something sorted sooner rather than later.
I need a tiny bit more luck coming my way, just so that everything goes to plan.
Fingers, legs, arms and toes crossed for me please guys :o)

vw may hold their value better than audi, but they are a great long term investment, if you buy a vw diesel they are just sooooo cheap to run its silly. my vw passat ( 1.6 turbo diesel) has now done 245,000 miles and the engine is still sweet as ever. paid only £200 for it and have done 45,000 trouble free miles in it myself. still getting 50+ miles to the gallon aswell. superb car

Love Audi A3s bubbs, deffo steer clear of the Alfa 147 though....I speak from bitter experience!!! Dunno if you remember, but it went bang with 60k miles on the clock, and did about 20-25 to the gallon! I've also had probs with Peugeots in the past. I think VWs and Audis both hold their price...speaks volumes really

Ok so put my sensible head back on and realised that Audi's maybe reliable but when I'm doing 40k every year it would cost a fortune to run.
Decided to go for something smaller, pug 206, one owner from new, fsh, tax and mot for 11 months, 25k on the clock, year 02, alloys, air con, etc, should be priced at £4500 and I've got it for £3200! Only reason they're selling it is that they have just been brought a brand new mini by their parents and it's taking up too much room in their double garage!! HPI checked and all clear, pick it up on saturday :o)
Not exactly what I was after, but I don't like it I can always sell it on and make some money from it :o)
This also means that I have a little of money for my new bike, gonna put it in premium bonds until I've saved the rest.
I WILL have a new bike by the end of the summer.
Oh and I've had a great weekend, new hair cut (short eeeek), new car, getting closer to booking my IAM test, move in two weeks time and looking forward to the summer.
