I've been wanting to open a bikers campsite in the Normandy area of France, it's getting to the point where i really wanna do this over the next year or so but need some feedback from bikers on what they would expect from a campsite, obviously normal stuff like toilets and showers... but anything anyone can come up with to make it an extra special place and a place where peeps wanna come to as its different, also an idea on what u would pay per person for the facilities any help and feedback would really be appreciated

well if you'v got showers and bogs sorted out (are you gonna allow campfires? if so you will need to sort out a supplier of wood etc.) a shop to buy bits and pieces, ie camping bits like tent pegs guy ropes etc) and dont forget to have some food and beer available...... other than that what more could anyone want?

A huge bbq area and maybe license to sell alcohol (if needed in France). If you were to do this you would make a killing from it and the bikers wouldn't have to worry about not drinking/drinking less to ride their bike back to the site and could tour all day long :o) Also it might be worth getting in contact with a tour company to see if they would be interested in doing a "deal" with you on multiple bookings, this would guarantee an income for you and promote your business by recommendation :o) Hope this helps. P.s. If or when you set it up, can I visit for free pmsl

i wasnt going into details on legalities in france on setting up a campsite, i was offering an opinion on facilities that may be of use to the target customer. As for a huge bar-b-q area that would work too but theres nowt like sitting around yer own campfire and cooking yer grub.

Possibly secure storage for helmets, leathers etc if peeps want to go off without bikes for the day could be useful, tents not being the most lockable type of things!!

how about having some tents already set up so we dont have to lug one over there, we can just arrive and hire tents from you good selves. and i have to agree with the secure luggage / leathers storage. best of luck with your venture.

If the area has hills, crushed compacted gravel roads shure make things easyier when the ground is moist.

for me things would definately be secure storage, good hardstanding for parking plus something to lock the bike to and these firepits that are sold would be good for fires. defintely agree that your own fire is the dogs.
